NEW YORK (PIX11) – Police and medical personnel rushed to the 23rd Street PATH station after a man was stabbed on the train Tuesday evening.
The attack happened shortly before 6 p.m. on a train leaving from 33rd Street. The suspect then jumped off the train and fled the scene according to the NYPD.
The victim’s injuries are not expected to be life-threatening, he is being treated at the scene.
It’s not clear what led to the stabbing, but it was a frustrating evening commute for riders with many left stranded on delayed trains.
Because of car equipment problems starting around 4:30 p.m. on the Hoboken-33rd, Journal Square-33rd, Hoboken-WTC and Newark-WTC lines, frustrated riders took to Twitter to vent their frustrations:
